Literature Text

A friend once told me
Different things including pain
Whether emotional or physical
It all ends up the same
Over the past few years
I've felt nothing but fear
Sentimental tears
I've listened to so many words
I got by but wonder how I'm still here

My friend once told me
That regret is a wasted emotion
But through all the commotion
I feel grief and still in the midst of confusion
Regret is a wasted emotion
And it clearly shows

My friend once taught me
That not all ends in vain
With hard work and determination
Sometimes you can smile in the rain
Over the past few years
Foolish thoughts came near
People are illusions mere
I've listened to so many people
Enough to drive away the fear

My friend once told me
That regret is a wasted emotion
But through the commotion
I feel grief in the midst of confusion
Regret is a wasted emotion
And it clearly shows

It's a funny thought
That nothing is actually that bad
In the moment you can get caught
Events become a lot more sad
But even when all seems lost
Remember in someway you can slowly move on
For you can't afford to stand
When time doesn't gain any frost

My friend once told me
That regret is a wasted emotion
But through all the commotion
I feel grief in the midst of confusion
Regret is a wasted emotion
And it clearly shows
Take it from someone who knows
A ten minute write up. LeesNinjaPirate [link] told me ages ago that regret is a wasted emotion, not worth the time of day. It's slowly but surely has grown on me and I can see that her words are true. So a thank you goes to her and this lyric hopefully shows you, the reader, a lesson that the fool who wrote this lyric has finally learnt.

Hope you enjoy.
